Description
AJA KUMO 6464-12G 4K/UltraHD 12G-SDI Compact Router - KUMO 6464-12G
The all-new KUMO 6464-12G offers increased capacity for larger configurations while maintaining a compact 4RU profile with support for SD up to 4K and even 8K from 64x 12G-SDI inputs and 64x 12G-SDI outputs. KUMO supports ganged dual and quad port routing control, allowing users to group multiple inputs and outputs for Dual Link, Quad Link 4K/UltraHD, and 8K/UltraHD2 workflows.
KUMO 12G-SDI routers support large format resolutions, high frame rate (HFR) and deep color formats while reducing cable counts when transporting 4K/UltraHD over a single SDI link. The routers offer network-based and physical control using KUMO CP and CP2 and mirror the physical form of AJA’s production-proven KUMO 6464 routers, with a USB port for configuring IP addresses via AJA’s free eMini-Setup software.
Built to the same quality standards as all AJA products, KUMO 6464-12G is the ideal choice for any situation where a balance of size, performance, reliability, and capacity are critical, such as virtual production, post facilities, and mobile trucks.

Powerful Signal Management
KUMO 6464-12G's powerful cross-point routing matrix maps any input to any number of outputs without the need for additional patch panels or distribution amplifiers.
As 8K and 4K/UltraHD workflows continue to be adopted, KUMO 6464-12G can meet this need. KUMO 12G-SDI routers offer single-link cable connectivity for 4K/UltraHD and, with a simple setting change, can be configured for ganged dual link or quad-link routing, allowing users to group multiple inputs and outputs for 8K workflows. This allows routing of raw or 8K or 4K/UltraHD signals for virtual production, live events, OB trucks, or post facilities.

Compact Routing
The KUMO family of compact SDI routers provides powerful signal control and supports full broadcast specifications over 12G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and SD-SDI, with quality that exceeds SMPTE specifications. The super-compact 1RU, 2RU, and 4RU formats are just a few inches deep, making them a perfect fit for any broadcast, production, or post-production environment, from mobile sports trucks and edit suites, virtual production, corporate video installations, or live theatrical A/V rigs.
No fans are used in the KUMO routers, enabling installation in environments that require silent operation such as on-set, audio booths and operating rooms.

Salvo Simplicity
Salvos allow an operator to quickly route a predefined set of crosspoints, connecting specific sources to destinations at the push of a button. Salvos are easily created by simply setting up the desired routes and saving them to a button in the KUMO router’s Web UI.
Up to eight salvos can be stored in a KUMO router and can be instantly recalled via the KUMO router’s Web UI, GVG Native Protocol over ethernet, RS-422, and the AJA KUMO CP2 Salvo buttons.

KUMO Presets
This powerful feature saves current settings to 1 of 20 available Preset slots. Settings on the Configuration page are stored in the preset, and any preset may be recalled at any time, returning the KUMO to the previously stored state. Items stored as part of a preset are:
1. Switching Mode
2. Crosspoint map
3. Source Button Settings: name, color, hidden/shown, etc.
4. Destination Button Settings: name, color, hidden/shown, etc.
5. Salvo configurations
Also included is the capability to deploy presets from one KUMO product to another. For example, the KUMO 6464-12G names can be deployed on a KUMO CP2 control panel UI configuration via the router preset.

Broadcast-Standard Reliability
Designed for critical broadcast, virtual and on-set production, and post environments, KUMO routers are built to AJA standards that exceed SMPTE specifications. The use of premium components, coupled with AJA’s RP-168 compliant switching capability across multiple crosspoints at once, ensures that switching between sources provides consistent SDI output with no visual impact.

Redundant Power Supplies
Routing sits at the heart of your signal matrix needs, connecting one critical device to another. To ensure maximum uptime in the unlikely event of a power supply failure, KUMO offers redundant power supply options that can failover with zero disruption to operations.

Simple Installation and Configuration
Running embedded Linux-based software, KUMO routers are network-ready and support powerful HTTP control and monitoring via a web browser - without the need for any additional software.
KUMO's USB port connection allows easy IP configuration using free AJA eMini-Setup software. KUMO's auto-detect Bonjour™/Zeroconf protocols mean that network configuration can also be automatic; just connect KUMO to your network or a computer, and the system will auto-configure and be ready for use. Alternatively, standard network configuration allows access to each KUMO via its default IP address. Once connected to KUMO using a web browser, you can configure the full TCP/IP settings, select and name your KUMO routers, name your sources and destinations, and perform all operational functions, including crosspoint selection and salvo execution.
KUMO routers are easily integrated with existing infrastructure utilizing the industry-standard Grass Valley Native Protocol over RS-422 or Ethernet. Ethernet network connectivity also allows you to control all KUMO routers from any web browser on a network-connected device, ensuring you have the control you need from any location.

KUMO CP2 and KUMO CP
AJA KUMO CP2 and KUMO CP are optional control panels that can be used in standalone or networked configurations.
Connecting via ethernet to the same network as the KUMO routers, KUMO CP and KUMO CP2 enable full control from any location without the need for a computer. Up to four KUMO routers can be controlled from a single control panel. A single router can be controlled by up to 32 control panels.
KUMO CP2 offers direct access to all 64 inputs and outputs of the KUMO 6464-12G with a simple click of the shift key. This Control Panel also offers direct control of a KUMO router’s eight salvos.

Affordable
Whether you’re building a mobile truck, edit suites or an AV flypack, get the routing capabilities you need at a price that fits well within your budget. KUMO routers are so flexible and affordable that they can also be used in place of traditional distribution amplifiers to send a signal to multiple locations. KUMO routers provide an incredible price/performance ratio while surpassing the highest quality standards.
Industry Leading Support
AJA’s technical support is recognized as among the best in the industry and is available to all AJA customers. If you need assistance with any aspect of your KUMO installation, configuration, or operation or encounter any technical issues, AJA Support will work with you to get up and running.
KUMO products are covered by a generous five-year warranty. Please see the individual Product Manual for additional specifics around warranty conditions for the product itself.
